His books have received outstanding reviews from Booklist and Library Media Connection and a number of awards, including a 2011 Eureka Nonfiction Children's Book Award and a 2012 Green Award for Sustainable Children's Literature (Santa Monica Public Library). Mark is currently working on sets of Scooby Doo books (a collaboration between Capstone and Warner Brothers) and a book on the Greek myth of Perseus, among others. As a musician and songwriter, Mark has written and recorded both grown up music and music for children.
