Recently a publisher reissued my first novel, THE COMMON GARDEN, a book I wrote going back and forth to work on the New York subway when I was a young woman and desperate for time to write. You can find a funny account of this at OPEN LETTERS MONTHLY on the Internet; it's called "On Finding My First Novel on Amazon.com for $0.01." All those battered, yellowing copies are gone, and the new printing is listed on Amazon, displaying a handsome new cover. If you're interested, you'll find more on the book's page at Amazon and on my Web site, www.marthamoffett.com. You'll see a couple of stories that have not been published and you'll hear me read a poem, "Monhegan Graveyard." I was born in St. Clair County, Alabama, lived for a few precious years in Manhattan, and now live in South Florida. I'm preparing to put out my first e-book, PICNIC IN EDEN, and being forced to learn more than I want to know about the process!
