Recently a publisher reissued my first novel, THE COMMON GARDEN, a book I wrote going back and forth to work on the New York subway when I was a young woman and desperate for time to write. I was born in St. Clair County, Alabama, lived for a few precious years in Manhattan, and now live in South Florida.
