Martin began work on his first novel, Soul Lifter, in 2010, fitting in stints at the keyboard between shifts working as an NHS health advisor. A round of public sector cuts in the summer of 2013 allowed him to focus on his passion for writing fiction, particularly of the dark, supernatural kind. Soul Lifter was completed at the end of December that year, and followed by a novella, The Carnarvon Creeper, which was published in August 2014.He lives in Beverley, England, with his wife and daughter.
