Mary Casper is currently a Master of Architecture candidate at Rice University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 2006, where she majored in Sociology and Russian Studies. Mary's architectural interests focus on the research and design of social space in the evolving public realm, which she investigates primarily through form- and image-making. Mary has contributed research and design to the exhibition "Next North" with Infranet Lab/Lateral Office and assisted in the publication of the Design for Reuse Primer with Public Architecture. She was Co-Editor-in-Chief for PLAT Journal issues 2.5, On the Bias, and 3.0, Collective Disruption, and she has collaborated as an architectural designer with Situ Studio, Interloop Architecture, WW Architects, and JohnstonMarklee. Mary has been awarded the Dorothy K. Evans and the Louise Hart Van Loon Fellowships for Graduate Study, the Morris R. Pittman Traveling Fellowship, and the Gene Hackerman Prize.
