Maura Stanton writes fiction, poetry and prose poetry. She has won the Nelson Algren Award from The Chicago Tribune, the Lawrence Foundation Award from The Michigan Quarterly Review, the Richard Sullivan Prize from the University of Notre Dame Press, the Supernatural Fiction Award from The Ghost Story (theghoststory.com), the Michigan Literary Award and an O’Henry Award for 2014. She has also won the Yale Younger Poets Award (for her first book of poetry, Snow on Snow), and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Her novel, Molly Companion, was published in Spanish as Rio Abajo.
