I received a copy of this via NetGalley, for an honest review. My expectations for this book were incredibly high. I loved the first book, especially the last bit where Herlock and Lupin met, and I was really looking forward to this one.Unfortunately, I wasn’t blown away by it as I thought I would be...

Ah, a likable thief! Arsen Lupin reminded me of Sir Charles Litton (aka The Pink Panther) from the movie, The Pink Panther. A suave, debonair, elegant master criminal, Arsen Lupin might be a character that I could come to love!

The plot is entwined with some big king of France secret that mixes the man behind the iron mask, Joan of Arc and a few other well known dates and names. I...

I first read Maurice Leblanc's Arsène Lupin many many years ago as a teenager. I remember enjoying it but it was anything to write home about unlike Doyle's Holmes or Christie's Poirot which I did enjoy and was something to write home about. Fast forward to now. I think Lupin is more a grown up typ...

What the author does to Holmes and Watson doesn't bear thinking about. I ought to have given it 3 stars but I'm a sucker for this sort of thing.

Maurice Leblanc's Arsene Lupin books are my favorite Project Gutenberg find. This is the second Lupin book I've read, and, although I don't think it was as good as The Extraordinary Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Gentleman-Burglar (which is actually a collection of short stories, rather than a novel), ...
