Caroline Starr Rose's May B. is an inspiring and captivating story of one young girl's heroic struggle for survival. May B. is sent to live and work for new neighbors 15 long miles away from home, but when the unthinkable happens, May B. finds herself alone in the soddy during the harsh winter month...
Such a lovely book. Poor May(Mavis). The book was in verse, so it wasn't my favourite kind of reading style, but it still was beautiful to read the story of May.Luckily May is a very strong girl and she keeps going, just fighting and trying to do her daily things even when things look bad.
A swift, sweet read -- a middle-grade novel in verse. Grab this if you loved "On The Banks of Plum Creek."
Loved the story line. I didn't want to put it down. The ending was a bit abrupt, though. Would like to have spent more time with May B.
I absolutely adored this book! It had a bit of a slow start, but once I read more of May's story, I was completely caught up in it! May is one brave, strong, and truly inspirational little girl. :D I definitely recommend this one, especially if you're a poetic verse fan! :D
