Pulls you in and holds you there. You know something's off from the get go, you just keeping holding your breath until you find out what it is. Set in North Carolina.
The end was a little predictable with respect to Richard and I have to say, I'm disappointed about Emma, but it makes so much sense in retrospect and makes me all the more sad for Carrie. A very heavy read but a very engaging novel. I couldn't put it down.
The topic of this book was INCREDIBLY tough, but the book was well worth the read..just be ready for a multitude of emotions to come from it. Incredibly written for a debut.
I was very disappointed with this book. I had the whole story figured out very early and it wasn't very entertaining. I would not recommend this book to anyone who had more than 5 brain cells.
Oh, what a surprising little turn this one takes! Very good story!
