A Scottish-Canadian Blethering On About Books
I thought this mystery was a cut above most of the first-of-a-series Kindle freebies I've tried. I enjoyed the balance between the fisticuffs action (Sasha McCandless is a practitioner of some sort of martial arts, and frequently finds occasion to use it) and the legal background. Miller is, apparen...

This second sister's story is a fast-paced read. The characters aren't drawn deeply, but they still seem to hold up well and interact naturally. This is truly all about the action and storyline. Full review on my blog soon.

And the third one finishes up the series so far. I guess that means I should get the full review done, eh?

Meh. This book really should have been a movie. That way, I could have sat back, relaxed and enjoyed seeing the action unfold. I tend to be more willing to suspend disbelief when it's on the screen playing out in front of me. Truth is, I quite enjoyed the first part of this book. Author Melis...

Eh, this one seemed like filler. There was zero mystery, too few thrills, and what felt like a slow moving plot. I really don't feel like anything happened in this book (except for the news at the end) that really contributed to the progression of this series. I still loved reading about Sasha and L...

The more laws, the less justice. -- Marcus Tullius Cicero The law has no compassion. -- Christopher Darden Assistant U.S. Attorney Aroostine Higgins has done something I didn’t think could be done. She made me read a ‘lawyer book’ – and actually fall in love with a ‘lawyer character’. Awesome. Y...

This is a quick book. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the reader did not have a monotone voice. I got the audio version of this book
