I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to expect when I found it in a bookstore, but I really wanted to read it after reading the back cover. this book is a mix of history, mythology (in a religious sense) and archeology. I don't know all that much about archeology, but that part, mostly men...
It's 30 years old and, as another review notes, the conclusions reached from the archeology are hotly contested but, if nothing else, it illustrates just how little we know about preliterate civilizations.
