Mia Yun is the author of two novels, House of the Winds (Interlink/Penguin) and Translations of Beauty (Atria Books of Simon & Schuster/ Washington Square Books). House of the Winds won the Independent Publishers Award, was a Borders' New Voices pick, and Kirkus Reviews called it "A superlative debut." Translations of Beauty was a Book of the Month Club selection, a USA Today summer reading pick and was chosen by The New York Times as one of the "New Immigrant Classics" with others such as Chang Rae Lee's Native Speaker and Gary Shteyngart's The Russian Debutante's Handbook. Featured on NPR and WNYC and other media, Mia Yun has given many readings and lectures at universities, bookstores and cultural institutions, and has worked as a journalist and translator. She is a PEN member and on the advisory board of Evergreen Review, an online reincarnation of the legendary literary magazine first launched by Grove Press.
