Michael Hames-García is professor of ethnic studies at the University of Oregon. He publishes books and articles on a range of issues in contemporary cultural politics, including theories of identity and the self; prisons and criminal justice; and the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. His current projects involve analyses of race, gender, and incarceration in the United States and race and sexuality in the United States following World War II.
