Michael Bryant was born and raised in Victoria, on the west coast of Canada, then studied and worked in Vancouver, New York, Boston, London, Ottawa and now lives in Toronto with his two children. He authored the #1 Bestseller in Canada (Globe&Mail CDN Non-Fiction) "28 Seconds: A True Story of Addiction, Injustice and Hope" (Penguin) in 2012. Bryant was the youngest Attorney-General in the history of Canada's largest province, Ontario, in 2003-2007, and served for 10 years in the Ontario legislature. Bryant was educated at the University of British Columbia, Osgoode Hall Law School and Harvard University (with the student loans to prove it!). He clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada, practised law in NY, Vancouver, and Toronto, and taught at King's College, London (UK) and University of Toronto. Bryant currently speaks on issues of mental health, addiction and justice reform, while consulting with indigenous communities. He is a Principal at Ishkonigan Mediation & Consulting, and a Fellow at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
