Technically, Asimov didn't write this; he just authorized it. However, that doesn't prevent this book from being great. It was actually a nicely written, fun story. Aside from a scant few profanities, there was really nothing offensive in it, either. Good stuff!

Luke continues to learn about his mother's people, all of which will be completely ignored when the prequel films are made. I think one of my favorite non-canon characters, Winter, gets a few good scenes in this story.

The New Republic is in danger because apparently our heroes are all very politically naive. I think there's yet another forgotten Imperial super weapon out there, too.
