Michele R. Davidson, PhD, CNM, CFN, RN has been a nurse midwife since 1995 and has delivered more than 1000 babies during her midwifery career. Dr. Davidson has co-written many books including, Old's Maternal-Newborn Nursing and Contermporary Maternal-Newborn Nursing Care which is used globally for nursing programs and is translated into 11 different languages. Her first solo authored book, A Nurse's Guide to Women's Mental Health, was inspired by her ongoing desire to end the stigma for women coping with mental health issues. This book won an American Journal of Nursing Book Award in 2012. Dr. Davidson has a passion for writing and teaching and is an accomplished Associate Professor of Nursing & Women's and Gender Studies at George Mason University in Virginia. Dr. Davidson has been married to her nurse practitioner husband, Nathan, and is the proud mother of four children: Hayden, Chloe, Caroline, and Grant.
