Though I just want to point out that it's really 3.5 stars. The .5 is important.I first have to say something positive about this book, because I the setting was so fresh and lovely and I want to give Paver the biggest and tightest hug ever for creating this wonderful world around a hunter-gatherer...

It's quick and fun. It's a children's book, so an easy read, which is good once in a while. I love dogs, my family has always had dogs, so I enjoyed that the most. It's still a great adventure and coming-of-age book. But now I'm of to my long anticipated "Way of Kings" by Brian Sanderson :)

I thought it was okay. I can't really decide what I didn't like about it; I think maybe it was the ending. I just totally didn't understand what happened at the end--it was all so abrupt and confusing. I don't highly recommend it, but it's still okay.

The elementary school I taught at bought this book as a set for group reading. I read through it just to know what I would be getting my students into. I was shocked that they had bought this for 3-5th graders, as it even scared me.The story was good, and I think if I had read it in a different cont...
