I couldn't get into this book. It was mostly characters thoughts which were rather melodramatic. After a quarter of the way through, I jumped ahead reading a few pages here and there that had the same style so gave up. Ex-Navy John rents office space from Suzanne and wants to have sex with her.
This series has been on my TBR for a long time. I had high hopes based on the blurb...Sadly, those hopes were dashed. I love a good alpha hero, but John Huntington was just too much for me; a hardened, brash man's man, soldier, warrior with very little social skills and no sense of romance/softness....
Did not finish, did not like. I don't like knuckledragging alphas or the helpless women who love them. I also don't like when men wear sweatpants and you can see their erections - it's not sexy, it's a Wednesday afternoon at The Golden Banana. This is the second book in as many days that's featured...
I liked this book but I only gave it 3 stars because there wasn't much dialogue between the H/h. It was all inner dialogue and they hardly ever talked to each other. I needed more conversation between them so I could get how their dynamic worked but just wasn't happening for me.
I really liked this book. It was a nice fast paced read packed full of romance, scorching sex, and tons of suspense. John is fresh out of the Navy and starting his new security buisness. Suzanne is loaning him out half of her building for his business. Within the first meeting the sexual vibes are o...

I love Navy SEALS and military bad asses and an H that is an absolute killing machine who is brought to his knees by his woman....
Midnight Man features everything you expect to see in a Lisa Marie Rice book. A military man who is hard and rough with a bizarre love for black turtle neck jumpers. A damsel in distress who is delicate and would never normally be interested in a guy as unsophisticated as the military man. A thre...
