This book was a short bio of Andrew Johnson. It talked about his early life and how he got into politics along with his presidency. Very basic - doesn't get into too much detail.Great for younger elementary aged kids who just need to know the basics. The comics, as usual, are quite humorous.
Very basic bio of Abraham Lincoln - detailing his childhood, the beginning of his political career and main talking points of his presidency. Venezia adds his usual charm and wit to the cartoons. Great resource for Elementary students studying US history.
I love Mike Venezia's books - despite being a little lite on info at times. He misses a few things on JB here, but nothing that makes a huge difference in a 6 yos perception of the 15th president. The cartoons are as funny as ever! My kids love the cartoons! I do recommend this series to familie...
Another great offering from Venezia - this time on the life of J.S. Bach. Good basic story of Bach's life for young people interested in music history.
Van Gogh led a sad and tragic life. I'm assuming many details not appropriate for young ears. But his paintings stand out in the hearts of so many kids, so it is important to give them a bit of history alongside with his paintings. I agree that the start of this book was hard for the younger set...
Nice little book on MVB - 8th president. Missing a few facts that kiddos would find interesting, but overall, good introduction.
Mike Venezia does such a great job with these historical bios. This was a great book to introduce kids to Chopin and the basics of his life along with the name of some of his most famous works.
Nice intro to JQA for kids. Venezia does a great job with the humor and cartoons to keep kids in the story and to help them remember little details on the lives of these famous people.
My kids enjoy this book - especially for the jokes that Venezia always includes. It is a very brief bio on Madison, and just wish it said more about who he was rather than what he did.
