Michael Williams has spent the past 20 years investigating strange events and mystery animal sightings across Australia and South East Asia. He is the co-author with Rebecca Lang of Australian Big Cats: An Unnatural History of Panthers (Strange Nation 2010), which pieced together the legend of Australia's mysterious 'black panther', and co-wrote the foreword for Savage Shadow: The Search for the Australian Cougar (Strange Nation 2011). Most recently he contributed a chapter to The Tasmanian Tiger: Extinct or Extant? (Strange Nation 2014).His work has been featured in various media and documentaries including the Discovery Channel's Animal X series, and 'Prints of Darkness', about inexplicable sightings of large black cats in New Zealand. Since 2013 he has been undertaking expeditions to Tasmania in search of irrefutable evidence of the Thylacine.
