Miki Knezevic is an author of both non-fiction and fiction. Starting out in a teaching career, she switched to writing when she took 34 extra credits in journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From journalism and PR, she changed focus to writing textbooks with Brenda Wegmann for Random House and McGraw-Hill. Behind God's Back is Knezevic's first novel: the story is based on reality and follows a female physician from 1914-1962 during two world wars and repressive communism in the Balkans. An intense love story intermingles with the explosive history of the 20th century.When not writing, Knezevic enjoys extensive travel, spending time with her husband and raucous family, friends, photography, reading and exercise-- particularly swimming in warm waters with sharks, sting rays and of tropical rainbow fish.Knezevic is a product of Milwaukee's ethnic neighborhoods, schools and Marquette University. She now lives in Madison, WI, where she enjoys excellent theater, symphony, UW sports, local festivals and clubs. She's a die-hard Packer fan.
