So I read this book back when it was first published. However, I felt like re-reading it this past weekend since none of the books I brought with me to read during my visit with my family held my attention much. Maeve Binchy is an old stand-by for me. I read Heart and Soul years ago and this book is...

This book surprised me. Never read anything by this author - always looked a bit too twee. But, having read one, that is doing her a disservice. This book follows the first year of young Frankie's life. She doesn't have the best of starts, being an accidental child, conceived on a presumed drunken n...

This was good enough to listen to while doing other things, though I've enjoyed other Binchy stories more.I was a little lost on several of the non-main characters; I didn't understand their roles in the book. There were a lot of people who just didn't need to be there.I was also confused as to Moir...

A well done audio, with gorgeous Irish accents, made this book more entertaining than I suspect it would have been if I’d read it in print. Maeve Binchy is one of them. Her observations about people are hilarious and spot-on. The characters are endearing an...

Those who enjoy a Maeve Binchy novel will not be disappointed with Minding Frankie. As is Binchy's way, there are characters and subplots galore! We get to meet new characters as well as get to "catch up" with some from prior novels. This was accomplished seamlessly. This was an easy read, quite...

Great book by Ms. Binchy. She always makes me feel so much for her characters, and this was the same thing. The growth, the anger, the dispair, and the final lovely resolution made the book what it is. And as always when I read one of her books, I want to go to Dublin.

This was the perfect antidote to the miserable experience that was reading You. Binchy writes about the families living on a working-class street in Dublin. Everyone has a problem, some have multiples, and everyone gets an opportunity to make things better. And not just one chance, either, Binchy g...
