Miriam Murcutt is a writer, editor and former marketing executive with extensive experience in the travel and the publishing industries.Born in England, she graduated with a Master of Arts degree, majoring in English Literature and Sociology. She then worked as a writer and editor on consumer and business magazines in England and Canada, before switching into sales and marketing. She has won several marketing awards. Miriam is the co-author of four books, all written with fellow author Richard Starks. They are: 'Lost in Tibet' (The Lyons Press, 2004, new edition 2012);'Along the River that Flows Uphill' (Haus Publishing, 2010, Kindle edition 2013); 'A Room with a Pew - Sleeping our Way Through Spain's Ancient Monasteries' (The Lyons Press, 2012); and 'Greenland for $1.99 - A brief (and illustrated) account of a journey inside the Arctic Circle' (Prestwicke Publishing, 2014). Miriam is a long-time student of Spanish, which was useful when researching and interviewing in Spain for 'A Room with a Pew - Sleeping our Way Through Spain's Ancient Monasteries'. When not writing or reading, she likes to move around as much as possible - preferably outdoors. She currently lives in the United States and works full-time as a writer.Visit Miriam Murcutt at http://www.starksmurcutt.com
