Misha Burnett has little formal education, but has been writing poetry and fiction for around forty years. During this time he has supported himself and his family with a variety of jobs, including locksmith, cab driver, and building maintenance.Catskinner's Book is his first novel. The basic idea came from a desire to create a new mythos, to set a novel in an entirely new Urban Fantasy world, without vampires, werewolves, zombies, fairies, or any of the standard fantasy tropes.The second novel featuring James & Catskinner, Cannibal Hearts, is now available.Major influences include Tim Powers, Samuel Delany, William Burroughs, and Phillip K.
