Misha Herwin was born in England to Polish parents, who came to that country after WW2. English was not her first language but once she learned, she never stopped talking or writing. Her first efforts were stories and plays for her younger sister. Since then she has moved on to writing novels, short stories and the occasional play for adults, children and now for the YA audience. Her latest book 'House of Shadows' is a time slip novel. Set in Bristol, the city of her youth it, is set at Kingsfield, a house with a violent history. Built by a slave owner for his beloved wife it is a place of lost children, where time fractures and two lonely little girls from different centuries cut their fingers, mingle their blood and swear to be best friends for ever. A promise that will lead to chilling consequences for them both. Her books for children include the 'Dragonfire' Trilogy. 'Dragonfire,' 'Juggler of Shapes' and 'Master of Trades'. Aimed at the 8-12 readership it will appeal to anyone who enjoyed a certain boy wizard. Her short stories can be found in 'The Alchemy Book of Ancient Wonders', 'Magical', 'Bitch Lit' and in complete contrast to the last in 'Voices of Angels.'
