This book is very different from what I usually read and there's kind of a backstory to why I ended up reading it. I was at the library with my boyfriend and I really wanted him to read The Raven Boys because it's my fave, so I agreed to read a book that he picked out for me. Yeah, our reading taste...

Twice I picked this book up from the library, and twice I returned it, unable to get much further than Arthur Penhaligon’s step into the mysterious house. However, because I did like the concept behind the Keys to the Kingdom series, I took advantage of the audiobook and finally managed to get throu...

Mister Monday is the first book I have read by Garth Nix and I decided to pick it up because I have heard many good things about this author from many other book bloggers out there. I must say it was an interesting story--quite bizarre, actually, though also very intriguing and ultimately difficult ...

This was really fun, and I wish I'd read it when I was younger. I have a suspicion that Nix writes children's fiction because he's not really capable of the depth and pacing that makes good 'adult' fantasy, but that's no terrible thing.

Another gripping tale from Garth Nix. A just right mix of adventure, suspense, crazy other worldly logic/magic/physics. Love his work.

Very reminiscent of Philip Pullman's [b:The Golden Compass|119322|The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1)|Philip Pullman|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/510AEGjZ9yL._SL75_.jpg|1536771], but without the anti-theism. Unfortunately, a little too juvenile even for my taste.
