The secrets of the dead are in her hands. The bones of three young women are unearthed in the basement of a Montreal pizza parlor, and forensic anthropologist Tempe Brennan has unsolved murder on her mind as she examines the shallowly buried remains. Coming up against a homicide cop who is convinced the dead have been entombed on the site for centuries, Tempe perseveres, even with her own relationship with Detective Andrew Ryan at a delicate turning point. In the lab, the clean, well-perserved bones offer few clues. But when Carbon 14 confirms her hunch that these were recent deaths despite the antique buttons found near the bodies, Tempe's probing must produce answers quickly to stop a killer whose grisly handiwork has seen the light of day.

An excellent plot in this one, three skeletons of young women found in the basement of a pizzeri...

Since I have found myself losing interest in Kathy Reichs novels and common storylines, I thought that I should write this review as I was actually reading the novel. I normally complete her books in three sittings so the review should be "fresh". For clarification, I am reading the Tempe Brennan ...
Great book! I was able to learn about Carbon dating and tooth enamel geolocation thingy. Anyway, the plot was great. I finished it in a few hours with couple hours for breaks. I got hooked cos I really wanted to know who done it and why and how. Brilliant Kathy Reichs.
One of many Kathy Reichs books from a charity shop that I thought I'd try. First thing to note is it is nothing like the "Bones" TV Show. The characters are different, the setting is different - even the country is different! On to the story ...You can read the blurb, and that gives you the overview ...
