This is the first book in the Monster Haven series. So far I am addicted. I love reading about the unknown in this story. I loved how in the very first few pages you really get a feel for how this book is going to go. When Zoey hears a noise and grabs a toilet brush to concur her intruder. This book...

Zoey has a couple TSTL moments, but the whole story is so light-hearted and campy that it's totally forgivable when she doesn't actually die.

This book was really a nice surprise to me. It was recommended on a forum where we talked about Urban Fantasy books. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was just delightful and dark all at the same time. Zoey, the main character is just so lovable. We experience things from her POV, which c...

Reviewed for Evie at www.Evie-Knight.comReview copy courtesy of the publisher via RT Con 2013First off, let me say that urban fantasy is absolutely not my thing. 3.5 stars. I liked the characters, setting, world-building etc. I just thought that one element was too obvious to the read and that made me think less of the heroine because she was not seeing it. I am looking forward to the next book.

3.5Oh, well...This one was sweet! I wasn't sure how would turn this "Monster in My Closet" premise, but the writer took my doubts away and pleasantly surprised me. Starting with empath, kind-hearted Zoey, a slightly weird woman with outrageous fashion style, to the magic creatures like good-smelling...

When you read a certain genre, every once in a while you need a break. Because let's be honest no matter the genre, there are certain character molds that the leads just have to follow. So when you read a lot of Urban Fantasy you tend to get kickass females, with big mouths, witty one liners, anger ...

Posted on Dark Faerie Tales.Monster in My Closet by R.L. Naquin is a contemporary story with a paranormal twist. The cover intrigued me and the synopsis piqued my interest. Monsters that go bump in the night are always something to scare young children, but when those same monsters visit your adult ...

I loved this book so much, I wanted to hug it, and squeeze it, and then read it again. I am so happy this is going to be a series, I love the characters that much. It starts off with Zoey, a free spirit with a questionable taste in clothes. Zoey is an empath, but never being trained, doesn’t know ho...
