The last time I read and reviewed this book was back in 2010, when my posts included spoiler-filled synopses that were as long or longer than the reviews themselves. I figured that a new review was in order, especially since my opinion of this book has improved. After Balsa, a female bodyguard, res...

A few years ago, I saw Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. I fell in love with it. The animation was amazing, the music incredible, the story unique, and the characters were well-developed. I fell in love with the main character Balsa. I thought she was so strong and co...

Not bad, but I really hated them mentioning over and over that Tanda and Balsa should get married. Further review later.

This was a great story about a warrior/bodyguard who is given an impossible mission to save the prince from an otherworldly predator. First, I love the pages in this book. They're smooth and a little bit heavier then a normal book page. This may mean nothing to some, but for me the book's pages and feel (and yes smell) add to the book experience/story. The pages are also numbered on the side instead of the bottom. The pages give t...

Moribito is the story of Balsa, a spear-wielding roving bodyguard-for-hire, and Chagum, the second son of the land's Mikado. Chagum had become possessed by something, and attempts are being made on his life. Balsa saves him from one of these, and is hired to keep him alive. There's a strong fable t...

So I thought this was going to be a short one, because, well, the book is pretty short, and I didn't think I had much to say about it. Then I started writing, and NGL, totally fangirling, but I don't even care, because this series is fucking awesome, y'all. While Moribito isn't perfect, it was a gen...

The story is short, very simple, but very sweet and poignant. I feel a little bit sad to have finished it.

I really enjoyed this, and the translation was pretty good. I'm really sad that they aren't translating any more of these, except for 1 and 2, because I liked it.
