t’s Christmastime, and “the Golden Twins”—Isabella and Gerald Templar—are hosting The Last Best Party of 1928, a four-day extravaganza of excess destined for the history books. Phryne Fisher knew the Templars years ago in Paris, where their legendary soirées caused a sensation, but is of two minds about attending this year’s affair. Fortunately, the decision is made for her when a threatening letter arrives, warning her off—of course Miss Fisher will be delighted to attend!
In an atmosphere of cold cocktails, hot jazz, handsome swains and clouds of hashish smoke, Phryne might concede that it’s the Best Party of 1928… but the Last? It might very well be the last party ever for three attendees who are kidnapped. Phryne must puzzle her way through a scavenger hunt of cryptic clues to retrieve the hostages and save the party from further disaster.

Oh Phryne, ILU but why so exoticising/racist?Also the Templars were rather ridiculous.
Ha ha! Ironically, Phryne refers to her temporary lover as fairy floss. The authorial insistence on Phryne's authenticity compared to everyone else is not a good look for a book.
