Luke Fitzwilliam returns from the Middle East to his native England and on the train to London, he meets and talks to a darling middle-aged lady who reminds him of his aunt Mildred. A couple of minutes into the conversations, Fitzwilliam finds out that the darling little lady is on her way to the Scotland Yard to report a mass-murdered that is gracing the streets of her home town. He dismisses her story with a smile, but after reading in the papers that the darling little lady was killed in a car accident not far from the Yard, he gets interested and decides on going down to the little rural English village to investigate the matter further..
