Sort of brought to you by Reading Project 2015.Felt vaguely bad for being tepid on Slam (not that anyone cares, except me) - so I thought I'd write something about how much I adore this.I think Merrow might be the Queen of short-form fiction. It's just a perfect little jewel of a book. An ideal comf...

Lovely story about Al, who you supposed could call simple, and Larry, the man who saw the real Al and fell in love with him.Very refreshing to be inside the head of Al. Al was so sweet. He didn’t have a mean bone in his body. And how these two met, hilarious.“You should let me take you home,” I said,...

Yes, this story is incredibly adorable! Very heartwarming and Al was such an awesome character. But his simple and naive nature were at times a bit too much like a child and that didn't sit quite well with me.Still this story made me smile and I had a great time with it!

This just got upgraded to 5 stars after another re-read (5th or 6th, I think). A book guaranteed to make me feel good (and shed a few tears in-between).

My good friend Julio wrote a review for this book, and I really don't have anything I could say to make it more clear that everyone who loves M/M romance books should read this one. Immediately. This book is a warm blanket you use to cover yourself on a cold winter's night. This book is that speci...

The blurb sounded good, so I went directly to the sample and started to read eagerly. And stopped rather abruptly. There is simple-mindedness and simple-mindedness. And the kind described here does not work for me. It felt wrong. Really wrong. And I know many people loved it, so it probably is a gre...

Saliva holds important functions in the human's physiology. One of them is to protect teeth. And here I was at a risk of losing them because I just couldn't stop smiling!First I have the man of my dreams. Then I have Al. Due to romanticism or Disney or whatever sociological reason, I have that image...

What an absolutely charming story.Muscling Through is a quick read, but a very sweet one all the same. Alan is very much the star of this story. No surprise really, as he is the narrator. But his direct approach to his relationship with Larry just won me over completely. Most people can't seem to se...

This is an extremely well done novella. It's amazing the amount of story that Merrow was able to pack into such a small amount of pages. Al was a delightful and rather unusual narrator and watching him fall in love with Larry was quite lovely. I will admit I was a bit skeptical at first about a re...

5/5 I absolutely loved this story! It was so heart-warming and sweet. There were moments when I just stared at my Kindle with the most besotted look on my face. It’s a rare story, I think, that makes you happy just because you’re reading it. The story is told from Al’s point of view. His narrati...
