IT STARTED WITH FEAR....

Katy has always been afraid of lightning. Now, Dr. Carson’s pills gives her the possibility of a whole new life. For herself. For her family.

But he did have a warning. He said, “The first pill has a significant side effect. Its job is to reboot your brain – ... The way this pill works is that your deepest, most hidden desires come back first. And what comes last are your inhibitions.”
“Well what about weight loss?” I’ve always been a big girl. And it did come in handy because of the ranch and all. But there were times when I would have liked to be a little…daintier.
Doc Carson looked at me. “No the pill has no effect on weight loss, unless you have a hidden desire to lose weight, and your tests didn’t indicate that this was a priority for you. Besides, you’re a healthy young woman, don’t worry about your size.”
As a storm approaches, she takes the first pill. She was prepared for failure, but she wasn’t ready for the feelings it uncovered. He was her deepest desire. She had grown up with him, and he was:

She decides that for the first time he would be perfect.
As the storm rages outside, there is thunder and lightning inside.
After her stormy afternoon with her stepbrother, Katy is left to figure out what it all means. Unfortunately her stepbrother, Wyatt, has unexpectedly returned to the range. And even when she follows him, he avoids seeing her.
But soon a new man enters her life -- an older, experienced cowboy. Hire by her family to make sure that Katy has the skills she needs to manage the ranch, Kolt Hayes can give her some skills in other areas of her life -- if she lets him.
Then in the cool, western night, she must decide if she is ready to learn the the skills that he is willing to supply - hard and unprotected .

Since her first time, Katy has discovered a strong need. Will she let the older cowhand help her, and give her everything he has to teach her? Will she be able to move on, so soon? Or will she decide to wait for her first love to come back to her?
Katy’s life then gets turned upside down when her stepfather brings her some news that will ruin all of her plans. And her stepbrother suddenly wants to come back into the picture.
Later, she and her cowboy are relaxing western-style when they are interrupted.
What unfolds in that star-filled, western night is both shocking and completely natural in a way that is hard and unprotected .
Somehow Katy tries to make the best of her situation. But the return of the cowboy she grew up with can make things even messier for her. Will she embrace the new normal? Can she make her partners see it the same way? And when the inevitable happens, who will step up?
