Myles Callum wrote a contest-winning article titled "Omphaloskepsis for Fun and Profit" for his college humor magazine, the NYU Vulture, and it's been downhill ever since. After a stint at Good Housekeeping magazine, he went on to become managing editor at Better Homes and Gardens, and then spent the next 20 years at TV Guide, where he wrote up new TV series for the bestselling Fall Preview Issue and had his own movie column. On graduating into frenzied retirement, he began making and selling puzzles, including crosswords that have been published in The New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, L.A. Times and more than 150 other unsuspecting periodicals. Along the way he has written three books, had two awesome daughters, served with the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps, taught lock-picking to CIC agents in Korea, impersonated a kendo expert on "To Tell the Truth," won a chess tournament at Meredith Corp., and had a parrot named Paco. He lives in Northern California.
