Myra Goodman and her husband, Drew, originally "city kids" from Manhattan, founded Earthbound Farm in their 2 1/2 acre backyard garden in Carmel Valley, CA in 1984. They originally farmed heirloom raspberries, and then added herbs, baby lettuces, and gourmet greens. Myra and Drew were the first to successfully market pre-washed salads for retail sale, and Earthbound Farm soon grew to become the largest grower of organic produce in North America. Myra fell in love with organic farming and cooking at the same time. Her inspiration has always been the bountiful seasonal harvest. She is very excited that her newest cookbook was created in collaboration with her daughter Marea, who grew up on the founding farm where Drew and Myra still live today.
