Over the years I have had the fortune of building a vast array of specialties into my portfolio. It began in summer camp as I led the nature and ecology portions of the camp, filling in for every other discipline as needed and providing camp set up services at the beginning of each season. I moved into food service as a direct line worker in the dish-room and the kitchen. Then I assumed roles as a headwaiter and soon after store manager. I moved into childcare and worked as a house parent, supervisor, crisis worker and group/recreational therapist. From there I was ordained in the Orthodox Church and began a long career in hospice, first as a Pastoral Care Provider, Bereavement Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator; ending my first run with hospice care as Director of Project Development + IT with Lighthouse Hospice. During that time I also served in parishes and did pastoral visitation as needed. I moved back into the food service arena, relocating my family to a 750 acre camp in the wilderness of PA for four years. I was the manger of the Camp/Retreat Centers kitchen and social media. While there we purchased a home and began a youth program at our church. When the offer to be CIO of Lighthouse Hospice came, it was a no brainer. To be able to return to the best company I have ever been a part of, while still living in the Pocono Mountains was simply all the best wrapped into one. Now as CEO it is my goal to integrate the patient care services with a robust and socially ethical platform that reflects a deepening leadership, connection to staff, + innovative approach to end-of-life care and the processes (business + service oriented) of that care. All through the journey I have always written. Publishing articles and books has been the consistent thread. The topics for my writing ranges the full spectrum of my interests: spiritual direction and formation, cooking, pastoral care, hospice care, poetry, the out of doors, camping and leadership.
