Nandini Nayar lives in Hyderabad, India, and writes for children.Her first picture book was Pranav's Picture (Tulika, 2005) and her first book for older children was The House of Fourteen Cats, which won the second prize in the Children's Book Trust competition in 2005. She now has eleven picture books, two novels, a collection of short stories and several non-fiction titles to her credit. What Shall I Make?, published in the USA as What Should I Make?, was listed as 'Outstanding International Book' by the USBBY and Children's Book Council in 2010. What Shall I Make? and Pranav's Picture also feature in the list of books recommended by the Central Board of Secondary Education (India). What Shall I Make? and What Did You See? feature in 101 Indian Children's Books We Love (Zubaan).
