Tried the sample; not my thing. It seems to be straining so hard to be funny, though obviously hitting the mark with a lot of people. :-)

It's not often that you find an author willing to take a chance and do things differently. Penny Reid took a chance by creating a romantic heroine unlike any other and she did it with wit. Janie is both intelligent and intellectual. In fact, I would have loved to have had her on my College Bowl team...

OMG! I laughed so hard at this book. There were some really funny one-liners in here and I loved them!Janie is so oblivious to the obvious. She wouldn’t see the broad side of a barn, even if it was two feet in front of her! She absolutely brilliant and has random factoids running around in her head ...

This book is absolutely hilarious, clever, hot and romantic. Penny Reid's debut instantly made me fall in love with her whimsical, satirical writing, and even worse now I'm craving for more and question myself: was I living under a rock not to read this fabulous book before? In fact, if you are a fan...

Oh, my. Have you ever started a book and then wanted to just stop reading it, not because it was so horrible but because you knew, you just knew this would be "one of those" books where if you could, you would just eat it whole because you knew it would be so darn yummy?Oh, if I could have immersed...

Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City)Laugh out loud! All hail the geek! Finally, a character I could really identify with. Janie is not like any character I have read before. She is tall, and has a figure – not something that the modern mentality finds beautiful. And, she is smart. We are ta...

4 1/2 starsFunny, cute, silly, quirky and smart. This was a great read. I loved Janie and she made me laugh and wish I had a friend like her.I couldn't give it a full 5 stars because I felt it was a little heavy on narration and therewas a lot of lip licking.Well done Ms. Reid.

I know the heroine has read hair, but as I was reading this, I couldn't help but picture Zoey Deschenel (sp?) with her black rimmed glasses, but without the bubbly personality. She was really an interesting character. I really liked that she was smart, independent, and her trivia-vomit was a really n...

Cute but Janie really did ramble a lot inside her head. I find it understandable because the same thing happens to me, but... still. Perhaps if it had been a little bit more... simple? Anyway, I enjoyed this novel a lot, 'cause it's got lots of UST (and then it doesn't!) and trivia facts and kickass...
