A lifelong cyclist and Kansas native, Neil attended K-State University in the Kansas Flint Hills. He studied Architecture and Psychology, graduating in 1976.A short stint with an engineering firm taught him that sitting in one place and doing one thing just wasn't working for him, so he began a meandering career path that he's never veered away from. He's spent time working as a carpenter, truck driver, concrete finisher, salesman, operations manager, computer programmer, and project manager. He's worked in executive positions as vice president in charge of sales, operations, software engineering and architecture, up to and including time at the c-level.Today he writes early in the morning, rides his bike as often as he can, hunts and fishes a bit, and reads in the evenings. He works as a project manager in Corporate America, both for the entertainment and because it's how the bills get paid.
