Machiavelli was definitely smart. Considering that he wrote Il Principe in the early 16th century, I am truly amazed about how insightful he was and how good he was in seeing through and analysing politics as well as power structures.Basically, he takes a good, honest look at mankind and their histo...
Philosophical Musings of a Book Nerd
Having now read this book three times I sort of wonder how Machiavelli's name came to represent a sort of politics that involved deceit, manipulation, and backstabbing, because for those who claim that this is what the Prince is about have probably read the wrong book, or probably not read the book ...

The greatness of the book is because the author destroyed a 2000 year old paradigm of thinking about how politics should work and introduced reality in to our way of seeing the world. There is an interesting meta-meta-history regarding this book. He's writing about using history before 1513, mostl...

This is a comedic play by Machiavelli. The plot is straight forward and Machiavellian. A young man and his acquaintances concoct a scheme to seduce the young and beautiful wife of a rich fool. It is a useful disproof to some new kinder-gentler interpretations of Machiavelli. It is in the schemin...

This one was really weird. So weird in fact that I stopped after a chapter to first read the original version this book was based on. (You can find my review for Machiavelli's The Prince here) After reading the original I came back to this story and although I understood it better now, it still wa...

I'm probably not the best person to say something useful about this book, since I'm neither a historian nor very into politics, but as a reader, I still like to spread my thought about it. If you're looking for an in-depth analysis of the book, this review is not what you're looking for. I decide...

Haven't read this in a while. It's still a great read. There are so many nuances and strategies that can be applied to all aspects of life, not just war, that can make your actions and decisions mutually beneficial for yourself and everyone involved. :)

Although it is a blueprint for how to rule over the common people, it has some really great points that carry over into many of life's situations.

Finished “Il principe" written by Machiavelli today. I liked it, it’s interesting and easy to read. The chapters are short so you don’t get tired while reading it. I’m glad I read it by choice and not because I had to study it because otherwise I would have hated it.
