I think this would make a wonderful book to read to a child. Great suspense with an excellent story line captures the focus of a group of boy scouts out in a remote part of an island. This was a pretty good book. I feel though that the slang was sometimes hard to read and follow and I think a kid might have trouble with it too. But the story was great!
