Jill Kismet is a hunter that takes down monsters and demons that pray on humans in the city. She's a human with a special gift, aka a gift she got from a demon. The main story in this book is her trying to take down something that hasn't been seen before. It goes through parts of her past and muddle...

Good intro to the character, good setting, good antagonists, no vampires. That's the first thing my housemate said when I recommended this book - "there aren't any vampires in this, are there?" It's clearly a tired genre but thanfully Saintcrow avoids vamps and uses demons instead, and to really goo...

Night Shift (Jill Kismet, #1) took me awhile to get into and to find my solidity into its dark world. After reading this I check the review to see what was up with me not loving this? It seems it is helpful to understand it better by reading her previous series. I may try her other series to see if ...

Positively in love with this book - with a kick-ass heroine, heart-wrenching tragedy, tonnes of sharp weapons, cute weres and twisted mysteries to solve, it's the perfect novel to snuggle up with and read deep into the night.

I had a hard time getting into the voice of Kismet. Not sure if I will continue this series.

gotta love an asskicking female. Liked her a bit more than Dante Valentine since she doesn't seem to whine so much or question. She DOES do that and it is annoying, but not nearly so much as Dante whom I was yelling at to "JUST TRUST JAPH! HE'S THE LOVE OF YOUR FRICKIN LIFE!" This one has more gumpt...

I'm on a roll of mediocre books. This one is about Jill Kismet, ex-child prostitute, who is saved by her mentor to fight evil and have a little hanky-panky with him too. He's killed so she's on her own. She's added some powers by a demon who she hates and meets up with a group of weres who are he...

I really like Lilith Saintcrow's writing style. I love the police work along with the paranormal. The romance is there, but takes a back seat to the story. I am also a fan of idea that if you do the wrong thing for the right reason is no necessarily wrong. I can't wait to read the next book.

If you have read the Dante Valentine series, you will like this one. Both characters are very strong female lead characters with a bit of attitude. They also have someone trying to pull their strings. In this series, Jill Kismet is a Hunter, which means her life largely consists of tracking and slayi...
