Katherine Theodopolis was going to have to dispense with her "lady-of-the-manor" routine. It seemed irrelevant after being rescued by a handsome pirate in the South Pacific.
At least Blackie Lowell had all the earmarks of a pirate to Kate and her five young charges. Before long the boys were worshiping their new idol, and Kate was reluctantly falling under his spell.
Kate still considered him an unspeakable barbarian -- most of the time. But when they finally reached land after weeks of close confinement, life without the infuriating rogue was too horrible to contemplate.
