'Some of the stuff they want us to do for the cameras gives me the creeps. I think they killed one of the girls, so I am getting out before they kill me.' So reads the chilling letter which sends Cole Nightshade on a private quest for justice. A teenage runaway is caught up in a seedy, terrifying underworld. Coereced into making sadistic films which end in violence, even death, Liz is in greater danger than she knows. Colt needs help and is forced to turn to the cops. Partnered with Lieutenant Althea Grayson, the two become an impressive team. But the clock is ticking for Liz and the trail is going cold. Can Colt and Althea find her before she winds up dead? Passion. Power. Suspense. It's time to fall under the spell of Nora Roberts.

Another good read by Nora Roberts
Rating 2.5I didn't like it much, didn't dislike it also, it was just okay, nothing special. The heroine keeps addressing the hero with his surname, is all independent and self-sufficient, the hero makes all the moves, oh and she also has a lot of past baggage(abused as a child). He's a former air-forc...

The title is the best thing about this romantic suspense story, which makes it extra irritating that it's just the hero's last name and has no actual significance -- unless we're supposed to read something into the fact that Colt Nightshade keeps trying to get Althea to drink bad-tasting tea. On the...
I read this years ago. I think the TV show Bones is based on this storyline. Strict Ice Princess with a cowboy cop can be explosive. This one is not too bad. It is Ms. Roberts who still wrote sweet contemporary w/o the edge.
