I have a bachelor of science degree with a major in mathematics and minors in physics and chemistry. I have earned several hours in mathematics and education beyond the requirement needed for a BS. I taught high school for 27 years in the Christian County School System in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, teaching courses from general mathematics through calculus. Since retirement from high school teaching, I have taught developmental mathematics, mathematics for nursing, and mathematics for agriculture at Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS)/Hopkinsville Community College from 1990 to 2007.Since my parents operated a dairy or sharecropped, I have always lived on a farm and been involved in farming. I have owned and operated a farm all of my adult life. I have been involved in crop production, such as tobacco and corn, and livestock production, such as dairy, beef cattle, and hogs. Presently, I am involved in a cow and calf operation.I am the author of Mathematical Applications in Agriculture published by Delmar Cengage Learning in December 2003 and revised in October 2011. I am a co-author with Mary Lou McReynolds of the mathematics/algebra book, The Key to Success with Algebra--A Step-by-Step Approach.
