Abra the Afghan hound, Bad Girl of Dog Fiction, returns with her adopted roommate, a femme fatale French bulldog named Sandra Bullock, to help their human solve a double murder...and have a baby. New readers can start anywhere, but the first book in the series is WHISKEY ON THE ROCKS. The setting is the Lake Michigan resort town of Magnet Springs, where real estate broker Whiskey (Whitney) Mattimoe sells and rents to tourists. Unfortunately, Whiskey's Afghan hound prefers the visiting no-goodniks, along with shiny objects that come with lofty price tags. You got it: Abra is a felon. Canine characters include Officer Roscoe, a German shepherd with admirable self-restraint; Napoleon, a standard poodle pining for his soul mate; Prince Harry the Pee Master, Abra's illegitimate son; and Velcro the teacup shitzapoo. Cats occasionally wreak a little havoc here, too. P.S. For middle-school (tween) readers, I've published two paranormal novels, HOMEFREE and SENSITIVE, about a girl who discovers she can astral-project. She appears to be in one location while in fact she is also somewhere else....
