Norah McMeeking worked as a graphic designer, book designer, and baby wrangler (mother) before discovering the limitless world of quilt-making. Grand-daughter of seamstresses and printers, the geometry and tactile qualities of quilts seem almost an inevitable form of expression for her. Her work has been published in books by Robert Shaw, Jean Ray Laury and Katie Pasquini-Masopust, as well as in her book Bella Bella Quilts. McMeeking taught adult education classes for 14 years and as a result has produced quilts in a variety of styles. Her favorite projects involve pictorial images, realism, creative piecing, and use of commercial fabric. She teaches across the U.S. and in Great Britain on a regular basis. Her quilts have been juried into national and international shows such as The Road to California, National Patchwork Championships (UK) and the AQS Show, as well as in several museum exhibitions.
