This is the second book in The Strain Trilogy. It is a decent enough horror / apocalypse story but it, unfortunately, gives the feeling that you are reading a TV-show script rather than a genuine book. The book is the usual roller coaster ride of intrigue, traitors to humanity, surprise attacks and o...

I have lost all hope for humanity! So much loss, destruction. Even with the small snippets of hope dealt out through this book, the demise of hero's and the disappearance of key players end this sequel on a low, low note. I urge everyone to read this series! Read this awhile back. Liked the premise, but it didn't quite hit all the marks. I enjoyed it overall. Would recommend for those who are a fan of vampire tales.

The FallFor some reason, it took me forever to finish this book. Weirdly enough, Horror seems to make me very sleepy. The combination of scientists, exterminators, and opposing gangbangers establishing a truce to go vampire hunting should have kept me on my toes at all times. I was never even bored. ...

Good horror requires atmosphere. I’ve stated that more than once, most recently just a few weeks ago, so this isn’t a great revelation by any means. I just feel it’s necessary to repeat because The Strain sort of gets it right. The opening scenes of the novel are full of a great deal of tension a...
