This book was alright, a little heavy-handed with the whole "eating meat is baaaaad!" and "no one should ever cut down treeeees!" hippie talk, but I was expecting that. Not what I would really expect from a fairy tale though, but I bet the younger readers will like it.
You can tell that this is one of Melling's earlier works-it doesn't have half the depth of her later ones. Still, it is a good way to familiarize yourself with the Táin Bó Cúailnge story.
