Housewife Blues and Chihuahua Stories
Only author Kim Harrison can spin a yarn about angels, reapers and a 17 year dead girl in such a delightful way!

I loved it. All of Kim Harrison's female leads are always strong, independent women and I love that.I liked Madison's attitude from the very beginning and was glad she remained strong all the way to the end.I loved the fact that she seemed to embrace all her differences and didn't try to fit in with...

The voice was cute and the story was interesting. Only downside was how rushed everything felt.

First I want to start off by saying I’m a fan of Kim Harrison’s books and I was looking forward to reading this book, the cover was amazing. But I was a little disappointed unlike “The Hollows” her adult series which is quite good. I wasn’t riveted by this one. The pacing was slow moving and by time...

This reader's personal opinion, ©2012, all rights reserved.* Read and not completely sure what star rating to give the book. I think I'm rating higher than it deserved because I know it's the setup book for a new series; or that I'm rating lower than deserved because Kim Harrison is such a favorit...

"Once Dead, Twice Shy" is a sometimes interesting urban fantasy about a young woman named Madison Avery who dies at the hands of a reaper, but hovers somewhere between life and death after she steals the reaper's pendant. From that point on, she's a moving target of the reaper who tried to kill her...

Overall a quick read. I was a bit lost because I didn't read the prequel. I liked it, but not sure if I liked it enough to continue with series. If we could give 1/2 stars, this one would be 2 1/2 to 3 stars for me.

Quite enjoyable and refreshing if you can suspend disbelief, overlook all the plot holes and don't mind a slightly whiny (but still likable) protagonist. It's squeals are less funny, more preachy and with even more contrived plot. The overall series is probably guilty of being America centric.

Love the book, a perfect YA book with danger and mystery and a fiercesome heroine saving the day and learning new sides of herself at the same time. I had an advantage since i´ve read Prom nights from Hell where Madison´s background and first meet with the Reaper is described. Here you "only" learn ...
Muddled, Mystified & Marvelous Musings
The usual warring angels vs demons and which side are you really on, little girl? Madison Avery is dead. After running away from her prom date with a strange guy she's never met before, they get in a car accident. This does not kill her. The guy's (a Dark Reaper) sword stabbing her does. She doesn't...
