Oscar Garcia-Johnson (1965--) grew up in Honduras and moved to California in the 1980's, where he pursued degrees on Philosophy, Religion, and church studies. He holds a PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary and lectures regularly on the contemporary church, cultural studies, spirituality, globalism and transnationality, youth leadership. He and his wife have been involved in several non-profit organization projects in the San Fernando Valley and are the co-funders of Omega Generation, a young adult mentorship program aiming to equip emerging leaders in the areas of cultural fluency, contemporary spirituality, professional excellence, and civic engagement. He writes in English and Spanish. His first book, in English, The Mestizo/a Community of the Spirit: A postmodern Latino/a Ecclesiology (Pickwick 2009) is a fresh proposal for doing church in today's global environments in way that matters to the community and models Christian virtues. His second book, in Spanish, ¡Jesús, hazme como tú! 40 maneras de imitar a Cristo (Kerigma 2010), is a collection of 40 short readings written in an inspiring style about how to embody Jesus' practices in everyday life.
